{"id":32,"date":"2017-08-01T13:33:50","date_gmt":"2017-08-01T13:33:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/netyoda.co.uk\/food\/?p=32"},"modified":"2017-08-03T15:08:09","modified_gmt":"2017-08-03T15:08:09","slug":"prawn-balti","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/netyoda.co.uk\/food\/prawn-balti\/","title":{"rendered":"Prawn Balti"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Originally from a restaurant in Birmingham, I&#8217;ve modified this recipe from a chicken balti recipe.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to use chicken rather than prawn, use a skinned and deboned chicken breast cut into 1&#8243; cubes, but add it between steps 4 and 5 and make sure it is cooked through completely before serving.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-35\" src=\"http:\/\/netyoda.co.uk\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/prawn-Shad-Indian-300x208.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"208\" srcset=\"http:\/\/netyoda.co.uk\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/prawn-Shad-Indian-300x208.jpg 300w, http:\/\/netyoda.co.uk\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/prawn-Shad-Indian.jpg 490w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Serves 1<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 tablespoons vegetable oil<\/li>\n<li>1 medium tomato , chopped<\/li>\n<li>1 small onion, finely chopped<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon ginger and garlic puree<\/li>\n<li>10 medium prawns, shelled and deveined, tail on if desired<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon paprika<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon dried fenugreek leaves<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon cumin<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon turmeric<\/li>\n<li>pinch of salt<\/li>\n<li>1\/8 teaspoon <a href=\"http:\/\/netyoda.co.uk\/food\/?p=40\">garam masala<\/a><\/li>\n<li>2 small chopped chillies<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon fresh coriander, chopped<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Method<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Heat a wok, frying pan over medium-high heat. When hot, add the oil and chopped onion and fry until translucent and soft.<\/li>\n<li>Add the chopped tomato and stir for 2 minutes, combining.<\/li>\n<li>Add the ginger and garlic paste and stir for a minute.<\/li>\n<li>Add the turmeric, paprika and chopped chillies and stir for a minute.<\/li>\n<li>Pouring in 200ml water or fish\/vegetable stock and add the salt, cumin, garam masala and the fenugreek.<\/li>\n<li>Add the prawns and simmer for about 7 minutes.
